about to start applying, do i have a chance?

*3 yrs rotc colorguard (commander senior year taking team to win 2nd place in district which is rare)

*Vice president of DECA
*Computer science uil team
*speech and debate (only did it for a month but got first place at my first and only tournament)</p>

<p>*volunteer hours 220:
through the JROTC program, I helped collect teddy bears to donate to the children at a local hospital, collected food cans for the houston food bank, and went to a homeless shelter to learn how to help out the homeless and went to locals parks to give them sack lunches and fresh blankets. I these service projects every for all four years of high school. </p>

<p>currently im on the gap year; in the meantime, I'm working, consulting my mother's job to improve sales, and in the works of publishing a book.</p>

<p>Im really sorry for the long post. I am just really scared since I am on the gap year and am uncertain on how that will play against me in the admissions process. Any input is greatly appreciated.</p>
