About transfering IB credit...

I'm a Cal 2013er in L&S. I'm currently trying to get a IB diploma in high school.

It's said on the UC website that students who complete the IB diploma with 30+ will get 20 units. Is that true?

And how can the units be used? Can I use the units toward freshman classes in L&S?

You get twenty empty units.

These empty level pushes your TeleBEARS up within your non-AP class level.

Certain HL tests can clear certain courses for you. Here are the ones I know of the top of my head.
A 5/+ on IB English A1/A2 HL will get you out of F&C
A 5/+ on IB Biology HL will get you of Bio 1A/L and 1B (though AP/IB’ing out of Bio 1 is highly inadvisable if you are biology major and/or prehealth)

what do you mean by empty units? How does those work?

they work just like the empty units you get for AP tests.

They push your TeleBEARS appointment up within your class level

I am also Full IB so are you saying it only helps when we pick classes, bt does not help to give us credit? I’m hoping for at least a 5 on my HL’s which is what you need to average for 30+ anyway

Here is what IBHL assessments where you score 5/+ get you

IB English A1 HL (apparently A2 doesn’t count, that must suck for some internationals) should be your top priority as that test gets you out of R&C.
