Abroad for 2 years?

Has anyone at NYU ever done two years abroad?

For a CAS student, would it be unheard of to study at an NYU campus abroad (ie Florence) for sophomore year, and then study abroad again during junior year but with an outside program?
The idea behind this is that the year in Florence really wouldn't count as the study abroad year--it would be a year at NYU, and junior year would be the true study abroad year.
Let me know what you think...

Probably depends on your major and its requirements. I doubt that two years away from the Washington Square campus would allow you to graduate in eight semesters, though.

I don't think you'd really want to do 2 years abroad... what's the point of going to NYU then? But I have had friends that have done 1 year abroad, either all at an NYU campus, or 1 semester at an NYU campus and 1 semester elsewhere (they were in Stern, so they went on IBEX to Hong Kong)

seriously i'd kinda be afraid that i wouldn't really get to experience NYU.

Why not consider one year abroad and a summer abroad somewhere else?
