I would like to study away for at least two years-hopefully my sophomore and junior year.

I want to study in Madrid and one other country that NYU has exchange program kind of thing with.

Is my plan possible? Is there some type of cap on how many years you can be away or where you can be?

Thanks a million for your help :)

Ya, I am curious about this too. Will you be able to fulfill your requirements adequately?

Never heard of anyone who will study away for TWO YEARS ( 4 semesters). Two semesters is definitely doable depending on how many courses are offered for your major at the sites you choose to go to.

Also, it would be kinda hard to build lasting friendships with people in NYC if you disappear for two years.

One semester in each location you desire is far more appropriate.

I think two years abroad would not work – study abroad sites do not offer enough classes to spend an entire year at each and still fulfill your major and general education requirements.

You could do one semester per site and spend a year (two semesters) abroad, but beyond that, it’s just not likely to be feasible.
