Absurdism and pessimism in the supplement essay

Since the Williams College's supplement talks about a significant environment to the writer, I find it attractive to write about absurdism and especially those shared views that Meursault had in the Stranger (Except for killing, of course).

But the question that remains controversial to some people, is it okay to write something like this for a college essay?

In a word, Yes.
College essays are supposed to be a “window” into someone’s personality itself; writing about what makes you tick, or whatever intellectually stimulates you–even with a bit of a risque topic–is much preferred over something bland and conventional. If you think you can master your topic and convey yourself through Camus’ POV, then I encourage you to go for it.

If you need someone to edit/critique, I’d also be more than happy to help out.
