Academic and grade deflation questions. plz answer! :)

hey guys! two questions for you:

how are the academics at bu? I’ve heard that they are pretty good but I just wanted to know people’s opinion on it (specifically bio and pre-med).

I’ve heard A LOT about grade deflation at BU. should i be worried about this?

Thanks in advance for all ur help!

BU has an excellent pre-med program and lots of early-acceptance opportunities to get into both BU med and umdnj. im a human phys major but most of my friends are bio, neuro specializing, bmb, etc. majors, and the programs are intense and demanding but very rewarding. people will tell you that there isn't deflation, but i have personally experience grade deflation in both undergrad and grad level courses. the pre-med courses are weed-outs, b/c ~1/3 of the entering class comes in as pre-med. by your senior year, there will not be anywhere near as many left. there are some wonderful orgo and physics professors and tf's, and some of the courses you will take will be extremely rewarding and taught by world-renowned professors, but it is difficult. i've worked my a** off to have a 3.7 gpa as a graduating senior. just do the best you can do, and most grad schools, in the boston area at least, know about BU's reputable academics. for example, my 3.7 puts me in the top 15% of sargent's graduating class, and a 3.76 puts you in the top 5%.
