Academic clubs??? Worth it to meet people???

Hey all, i'm in my first semester at Pace University (which kinda sucks btw), two months in and i haven't met anyone, it's pretty sad. I commute so it's pretty hard for me to meet people, and my classes are really small too (about 20 per class) so everyone seems to be in their own worlds.

Anyway, i'm like dying to meet people, go to parties, get **** faced, etc. So i was thinking of joining a club, but almost every club they have here are academic and idk if i want to join those, is it worth it? Will i meet preppy students?? Any opinions or suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

bump bump bump

Only join a club if you’re genuinely interested in whatever it’s about. This will serve you two purposes:

  1. You won’t be completely bored/lost/uninterested in whatever is discussed
    and
  2. It’ll improve your chances of meeting people who are into the same things you are

^ TotALLY

I plan to join a multicultural club

maybe an academic club in Medicine/Drama

Hmmm k k, gotcha. I’ll probably wont join any since i don’t even know what i want to study yet. Maybe a latin american club (i’m from mexico)… mehh… I’m just freaking bored all the time, maybe i should i just ask someone about any parties this weekend or something

academic clubs=resume boosts/opportunity for volunteer work
Most of the people in groups like this are extremely studious.

I don’t think the majority of people in these groups will be interested in becoming ****faced/partying (at good parties anyway.)

Why don’t you consider rushing, instead? Or joining a group geared towards interests of yours that aren’t academic?
