I attend a small liberal arts college where the class sizes range on average from 8-15 students. This semester the science department has been extremely loose on cheating on tests. On every test this semester, students have been cheating, and not getting caught. They cheat by cell phones, leaving class, or just looking at study guides during the test. I haven't cheated and don't intent to. But I want someone at the school to know whats going on so some changes can be made. Is it okay to talk to a professor I know well about it? I'm not planning on giving any names, I just want the tests to be fair. Any suggestions on what I should say and the reaction I can expect? PLEASE HELP! Thank you!

You can say that you don't have any specific names to give but that you've noticed as you took the previous test that some students were engaging in suspicious behavior and you would like the professor to keep an eye out for it. It's nothing against the professor--if anything they'd want to know so they can get it out of their classroom.
