On the HONORS section, it asks you for ACADEMIC awards earned. Is it okay if we include the awards earned in fine arts?

You can include it in extracurricular activities, where they ask you to list awards and positions. I'm guessing that since you've won awards in fine arts it's an EC for you?

I'm putting a non-academic (well it's actually slightly based on academics but that's not it's focus) award in that section since I tried all the other sections and it would either diminish it or would be a more incorrect place. If a school get's flipped about it I prob. wouldnt want to go to such a demented school anyway

Bumping this because I have a related question.

I’ve won several regional writing competitions, a state writing competition, and have been published in an magazine of children’s writing that draws from around the world (not TeenInk). These are not strictly academic honors, but I don’t think I should put them under the EC section because they aren’t organized activities, but rather contests I have entered on my own volition. I want to convey to colleges that I’m skilled in creative writing, and I think these awards help my application. Where should I list them?

I’ve been told that if your only strictly non-academic awards are in creative writing, you should put them down in academic honors.

Okay. Thanks, teenage_cliche.

I have a similar question. I do fine arts as an academic subject. Should I include my art awards in the academic awards section then? What about math and science olympiads?
