academics/extra cirriculars

Wow so I realize that there about a million questions on this thread about extra cirriculars but i am really really confused.

in the Academics section where it says 'honors' do i put honors related to school like national merit? My school doesnt have an honor role or student of the month so what else can I put?

and then in activities where it says describe each activity and "positions, honors" etc, is that where i put awards that i won in specific clubs like science fair or speech and debate?

I'm confused because the awards I won on different levels (like regional, state, national) can't be specified in the activities section (but they can in the academic honors section) , but they arent academic awards so i cant list them on the academic honors right?

Also when it says provide details, do i just provide details ABOUT the activity, like what it stands for or more like what i did or learned?

thanks so much--i'm just SO CONFUSED RIGHT NOW :/ please help!

You can put National Merit under honors. Also things like AP scores, if you’re an AP Scholar. Extracurricular activity awards go under the activity section. Sometimes it’s a bit fuzzy when it comes to whether awards are academic or not. Use your best judgment. Just give a general listing, like “3rd place state” is fine. I don’t see on the application where it asks about details about an activity. They probably mean just give a very brief explanation about the activity, like what you did in the club.

No worries; don’t stress out about it. The application isn’t meant to be complicated. Fill it out to the best of your ability.

Alright then i’ll leave the clubs in extra cirriculars. Also when will we know if we were national merit scholars? Is there an official letter or something?

What if I have officer positions as well as award that I need to fill out for an extra cirricular activity and it doesnt all fit? I know there’s an additional info option, so should i put the positions on the application and then attach a list of awards or vice versa? Does it matter?

Thanks so much dchow08, i really appreciate the help!
