Academic Probation

Does anyone know if you are placed on academic probation does UF mail something back home as a formal notice or is it just online?
Thanks

I believe a letter goes home only if you have been Dismissed for Poor Academic Performance.

I may be wrong, but I believe that when a student is placed on academic probation, the school will send by snail-mail an official letter of concern to the students home address.
This is not primarily done to “notify your parents’, but to lay out a predicate that if your grades don’t improve, then further official action will be taken.
By the way, what happened to your grades?

I believe iloveth47 is right. Academic probation is spelled out in letter-form and sent home. I was in pre-med my freshman year before switching to business. I was on academic probation that first year before getting over the first year blues and completely turning it around. You’ll be fine.

do you remember when the letter arrived?

I think you will feel better if you just tell your family-----
Good Luck !
