Academic Suspension Appeal

My name is xxx and I am an Elementary Education major at the xxx. I am writing in hopes to appeal my academic suspension. I was not able to keep up with my work properly and efficiently. I know I did not try to the best of my abilities, and I did not seek extra help when I saw I was struggling. I do not blame anyone but myself for these consequences. Now, after this experience and reordering my priorities, I feel like I have what it takes to become a better student and I wish to explain the circumstances which distracted me from my studies.
In the fall of 2015, I was faced with circumstances that affected my schoolwork. I had recently moved into my first place in Ohio with a roommate who despite my better judgment turned out to be untrustworthy, her actions created an unsafe living situation. After some time, her actions became worse which caused me to move to Florida with family. The move across the country took a toll on me that I was not prepared for. Trying to establish me in a new state and finding a job greatly distracted me from my school work. During this time I kept telling myself that I would do better in the spring however the spring semester came with the trial of having to move out of my family members house and into my own. This made me have to get two jobs and again pushed my schoolwork to the back burner. I have taken a year off of school in order to get myself back on my feet. I have found a place to live and a full-time job. Even though I will be working my schedule gives me more availability to be able to do school work.
My first step to improving my grades if reinstated will be to set aside a structured, consistent block of time on a daily basis to be used for studying and doing homework. If I find myself struggling I will make arrangements to seek extra resources to help me understand the material better. Another step will be to actively pursue extra credit assignments. I will avoid all unnecessary events while I have to study. I will spend more time reviewing class lectures notes and reading textbooks. To do better in fall semester 2017, I plan to focus seriously on my education until its finish. I will pass my classes during fall semester. I am determined to focus more on my academic career, and would greatly appreciate another opportunity to recommit to becoming a much better student. I feel I have the necessary knowledge to achieve great success if given chance.
