thank you for your feedback. btw I will go to more counseling sessions in the future. Here is the revised letter. I want to send it tonight.
To The Faculty Subcommittee:
I am writing this letter to appeal to academic suspension. I would like to start off by saying I take full responsibility for the fact that I failed the semester. Moving far from home was something that I didn’t think would affect me as much as it did. The loneliness and anxiety of the classes courseload started to take a toll on my mental health. Coming from high school and going right into college, I failed to comprehend how fast I had to adjust myself to a new environment in so little time. My study habits and what I thought would work for me back then, definitely do not work for me in college. I am very disappointed in myself. It is unfortunate how I worked hard to receive scholarships and met many people that helped open a door for me to go college and I disappointed them all.
My high school college counselor attended THIS University and I have been in contact with him since the semester ended. He has been helping me plan for a successful 2nd semester. To improve my academic performance, I plan to take full advantage of the resources, such as the student counseling center provided to me at ESF as soon as the semester starts. I failed to reach out sooner which was ultimately the main cause of my downfall. I was looking forward to getting in touch with NAME, who is one of the staff therapists when I returned to start off in the right state of mind and someone I could go to.
Thank you for giving me a chance to write this appeal for a second chance.
thanks for feedback
