Does anyone know if W&M have some peer or upper classmen tutoring program (I don't mean remedial progra) where a student can get help in homework or topics taught in class? Some school provide that service, especially to freshmen.

some subjects have tutoring offered by students in upper level courses or the honor society for that discipline. Some organizations offer peer tutoring.

you can make study groups.

the professors will be happy to help you / talk things over with you during office hours.

I know the athletic department pays some students to tutor, but that is only available to athletes.

I never really looked for a program like this… so maybe someone else will know more…

I know that the Econ department has a list of students who are willing and available to tutor students in certain subjects, though I haven’t heard of similar things elsewhere. It might be on a department-by-department basis.

It’s not directly related to your question, but W & M has a Writing Resource Center which my d found to be of great assistance in writing a major paper for her history class last semester. A good grade on a paper can make a big difference in your overall grade, obviously. The consultant really helped her clarify her ideas and thesis, and my d wound up with an excellent grade on a paper that counted for 25 percent of the coursework. Here’s the link: [William & Mary - About the WRC](About the Writing and Communication Center | Writing and Communication Center | Arts & Sciences | William & Mary)

Students probably can’t get an appointment at the last minute, according to my d, so plan in advance.
