i just want to know how the courseload is…i hear its one of the toughest in the country…can anybody elaborate?

moinsyed, you might try looking at the Allegheny community on livejournal.com for answers. My daughter has decided (sadly) not to attend Allegheny, although she really liked the academics, opportunities for study abroad, and traditional college life.

i have checked the allegheny community on livejournal...its not very helpful..thanks for the suggestion..where has ur daughter decided to go then?

She will be attending Carleton College.

carleton is a good college..wut was the tipping factor for her to choose carleton tho...was there something missing at Allegheny?

Allegheny was one of her "final four" - there are a lot of things she really likes about it, but her visit to Carleton sealed the deal. It suits her personality the best - academically strenuous, non-competitive, quirky. Definitely quirky without being too "out there".

I'm keeping Allegheny in mind for my son, although he's only a freshman (he's looking for a LAC with good computer science). I'd really like one of my kids to go there.

Good luck to you!
