-no volunteer work
-i have a gov teacher who use to teach and was on the admissions council at UT and hopefully hes going to write a good letter of recommendation
-im going to write a kick a essay.

so what do y'all think?

should i try and apply for the fall,or just take classes at acc and retake calculus during the fall to boost my gpa and try during the spring?

im trying to get into natural science or liberal arts

thanks

I would say you need to boost your GPA. It’s almost the only thing they look at for transfers.

The Englishes you took at Alamo will be included into your transfer GPA–it won’t just be your ACC GPA. So if those aren’t A’s it’s going to be rough.

3.3 is a pretty low transfer GPA I think as well. ACC has a lot of kids transfer in but you don’t get any special consideration.

yea… thats what i thought i had to do.

if i redo some of the same classes i had b’s, and a c in and get all a’s to keep my credit hours around 30. how would UT calculate my transcript? would they take the higher grade? or average the two? or just take them separately?

or should i just take different classes?

thanks

UT will use both grades to calculate your GPA. only retake the class if you know for sure you can get an A in that class. otherwise you are just wasting money and time and maybe even ruining your GPA. and what do you plan to major in?

Actually, retaking the class is not going to do anything for you at all. Take a new class you can get an A in so you will have more hours.

I know at UT you can only retake if you get below a C, and they count both grades.

i took some dual course credits at ACC during my high school year and got a D in this one class. i want to retake this class but afraid that it will hurt my application when i transfer to ut austin. My GPA is really low because of that one D though. What should i do?

Intro to psych and gov 1,2 are 2000 level classes at ACC? Wow they are 1000 level here at UH…
