you do, and you still would even if you werent an URM. i hope you get in, i have a lot of respect for eagle scouts. nail your essays and get good rec's. best of luck.

You have an excellent chance.
If I were you, I would look forward to an acceptance letter.
That is, if your essay and "Why Columbia" aren't dreadful.

I got almost all 5s on my IB tests. but someone told me that they don't look at the individual scores, just making sure that I did the whole diploma.

but thanks kwu! I really do hope i can get an acceptance letter. :-)

"I got almost all 5s on my IB tests. but someone told me that they don't look at the individual scores, just making sure that I did the whole diploma."

you're lucky you have decent grades and sats scores, by columbia standards 5s on everything is pathetic, they usually take people with a 40/45 at least. if they find out that you did the IB and got in the low 30s it'll be a near certain rejection, the world average IB score is liek 30-31. So unless you have APs / great grade in a competitive school to show that you weren't focused on the IB and have other stuff to prove your academic worth.

alright thanks. my school realy does prepare you for the IB tests, and the spanish immersion program im in, has never had someone get lower than a 4 in either the oral or the written one, and im like 2nd in the class so i should be fine.
anything else?
