Does UCLA accept recommendation letter?

Not that I remember. (So no, but go on and check their UC application online.)

No, unless something has suddenly changed since 2009.

None of the UCs accept recommendation letters, unless a campus specifically asks for one.

Really? I knew a friend who was the president of a club. Since her overall gpa was only 3.7, she could not get admitted into Hass (Berkeley). But after the professor (he was the advisor of the club) wrote her the recommendation letter, she got admitted. Maybe she was in the waitlist before. But at least the letter seems function under adverse situation.

@qwert555: Sorry, I thought you were referring to freshman admissions. And going off what you posted, I think that only undergrad juniors/seniors can apply to Haas. So that’s a different matter. But generally, for freshman applicants the UCs don’t take rec letters. For transfer students or a special program like Haas…I don’t know.

@qwert555, your friend most likely appealed her Haas admission decision. Applicants are allowed to submit recommendation letters for admission appeals. Regular admission, whether freshman or transfer, **will not **review recommendation letters unless they are requested. Usually if you are applying for admission to a major that requires a supplemental application, recommendation letters will be required for those; at UCLA, the majors that require recommendation letters include Nursing, Dance, Ethnomusicology, and Music (this is not a comprehensive list).

I think I read in UC website and they stated they didn’t accept any reccomendation letters
