I'm a second year Mechanical Engineering Major at UCR

I'm not going to lie, my GPA isn't that good(just slightly above the minimum required GPA).
It was nothing short of a miracle that I got accepted by UCSD.
But here's my problem: since both my primary and alternative majors are impacted (Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering) and there are people who are more qualified than I am, I was accepted as an undeclared major.
My friends at SD told me that I'll have to re-apply for those majors during the fall, but they didnt tell me how hard/easy it would be to do so.

so with almost borderline GPA(around 3.0), but on track as far as required courses goes
what are my chances of getting into my primary/alternative major?
