Acceptance Decisions

@2021NH Luckyyyy!! Sent my mid-year grades last week and my status just changed back to “being reviewed” today. I am so nervous. Hoping for the best! CU is my top but i have been admitted to my 2nd top.

Can anyone who was admitted earlier in the cycle tell me how long it took to get the physical letter? Is that when you find out about scholarships, or does the info show up online?

@TreeLights Took 24 hours for some links to update after acceptance, its mentioned somewhere on the portal
My financial “to do” were loaded the next day I got the after acceptance

I think it’s been a week since S’s portal updated that he was accepted and we haven’t received anything in the mail.

S was awarded a Chancellor’s Scholarship. It was posted on his portal a couple of days after the acceptance. He has also applied for other scholarships on the CU website, and yesterday I mistakenly thought he had received a supplemental scholarship because we received an email notification of an award. To make it worse, they gave the total amount for the four years as one number (which I also briefly thought was the per year amount). BUT, my elation was very short-lived b/c it was the formal email/letter for the scholarship we had already found on the portal. :-/

@sabrinawiggins I applied EA with a 36 ACT and a 4.99 GPA. Don’t think you can top me loser. Lol, good luck though!

Applied EA out of state for Aerospace Engineering. Admitted to pre-engineering. 34 ACT but only a 3.4 GPA UW which I think is why I got pre engineering instead of direct admission to the college of engineering. Whatever, doesn’t matter. Cheers fellas!

accepted today to the College Arts & Sciences  1300 SAT, 28 ACT, 3.9 Weighted GPA and OOS

@TreeLights I have not received anything in the mail yet but my financial to do list is updated with open items and also my scholarship is now listed on the portal

So who’s actually going to boulder? I’m still waiting on other colleges but it’s tempting just to forget about them and attend CU

@OrangeDude Boulder is my top right now, but I still have like 10 schools to hear from. They’re ranked pretty high for aerospace, and they right let me into the program, so I’m feeling pretty lucky. My state school and a few super-reaches are above it though.

You’re doing Aerospace too? Cheers lol. You know the engineering school struggle

I applied to Umich UCSB and GT so I’m waiting on those but I don’t really expect to get in to those so whatever

@OrangeDude especially for aerospace. I don’t think there are any actual ‘safety schools’ for this major! It’s competitive everywhere.
I got into WPI too, and they have me a scholarship that makes the two cost about the same, but Boulder is way better. I think it’s probably the best school Im going to get into. I got alternate major from Purdue, and everything else is still up in the air. Most of them are more competitive than Boulder though. I didn’t apply to Umich because I was convinced state schools just wouldn’t overlook the year that led to my ADHD diagnosis, because Purdue told me they couldn’t. Now I wish I had, because Boulder obviously did. Most people with my stats got pre-engineering or college of arts and sciences.

I’m still waiting to hear from Penn State -Smeal…if I get in there it will be a tough decision
Should know by 1/31

Any of you guys that got accepted apply regular decision?

@2021NH same! Im waiting to hear from penn state to make my decision

@huet99 yes my daughter applied regular decision though very close to the early deadline - Nov. 18 - but her transcript and counselor letter and school report weren’t in til Dec. 1 - and she was just accepted.

@huet99 it seems like college of arts and sciences, and college of engineering schools are still on ea applicants, but some others have moved on.

@TreeLights actually my daughter was accepted in the College of Arts and Sciences yesterday (Psych major) and she was RD.

@CAtransplant oh, maybe they’re all on to the regular decision applicants?
It might just be college of engineering that’s slow. You get considered for arts and sciences if you don’t get in there, which only prolongs the decision.

How do you find out? Do you have to constantly check the portal or do they email you? I’m happy to hear I might get a decision before April!

Also, how difficult is it to get into engineering? I have a 3.5 and 29 ACT.
