Acceptance Letter Mistake!

@okytdy: lol, I would have to agree. Especially to Princeton.

You think they might've switched two people's decisions. It would be awesome to be the other person :)

Wait.... 1) Princeton screws up someone's decision. Unlikely, given what's at stake, but OK, I can stomach that. Then 2) they call THE WRONG PERSON to tell them that? Is this poor person cursed or something? Or is Princeton merely imcompetent when it comes to this one poor soul? Or is this story fabricated?

On the other hand, I agree with kinetic - it would be awesome to be the other person, as long as I don't know that it wasn't meant for me - if I knew that, I'd feel like ****.

Colleges mess these up every year, but I'm pretty sure admission can't be taken back.

Hmm. most certainly a fabricated story.

they make a wrong decision

they absolutely MUST rescind their offer

they call when only a week is left for RD deadlines

the student might have withdrawn other apps

they CALL THE WRONG person!

so many loopholes....

a bit off-topic: accepted students - did your acceptance letter have an orignial signature?

I wasn't accepted, but I know they have in the past...

Yes, it did.

Mine did, and it Dean Rapelye also wrote "Congratulations!" at the bottom.

Yeah...I was also kind of hoping for little references to some part of our application like the Stanford dean has been known to do, but alas, no reference. And that's okay :)

Yeah, mine also had "congratulations" written on the bottom.

Mine said, "Better luck next time."

;)

Haha, aww. You'll get in RD. And when you do, you better come!

they should not be allowed to do that

do what? make the signature original?

gianievve, do you know a girl named catherine ford?

! why?

because i used to go to school with her, and she's my girlfriend's best friend. she told my girlfriend that one of her friends who she goes to school with in Wales just got into Princeton. send me an IM.

starts humming "It's a Small World After All"

Okay, that ride is creepy. Anyone else with me on this one?

Muahaha! We cracked the gianievve code! (Or rather, Julian did.)
Whew Finalement.....

well, technically we don't know officially, but let's hope. Maybe bokonon has finally (finally finally!) cracked the Gianievve Code. Ooooh...ominous music
