hm, interesting...i wonder why they changed it this year though then. then again, I think someone was saying that the way honors college selected its students this year was different

Do honors college acceptance letters come at the same time as acceptances/scholarships or might they come later?

Mine was dates exactly a week later than my original acceptance letter, but I didn't get it for about three weeks b/c of the holiday, but regardless, it's a little later usually (I think lol) :)

Just wanted you to know that we are in the same "boat" as you...still waiting to hear. Son applied very early in the fall. He was hoping for regular admission, did not apply for any type of honors admission. Stats are very similar to yours, except 710 on M and 31 ACT. Also, legacy( Sis graduated in 2002 and I got a grad degree in 1984.) We have not heard a thing....just the same "form letter" type postcards that others got. We are in state also - just 45 min. away. Son has already heard from 3 other colleges, and he is hoping to hear from Clemson soon so he can make final decision. Looks like we'll all be waiting until mid-Feb.

Following this thread for a while, I think many of you who are concerned will be pleased in a few days. Remember that Clemson does not have a rolling admissions per se. Admissions so far have been mostly HC candidates and recruiting scholarships, including the group recently taken into the National Scholars pool. And there are more scholarships to follow.

Good to hear somebody with stats kinda similar to mine (I had 750 M and 32 ACT) is waiting similarly. I think about 4 people from my school applied to Clemson this year (probably highest number, ever as we're in Texas and numerous people don't know what state Clemson is in), but I've yet to hear from any of them hearing back either.

Good to know! Would you happen to be an admissions representative or current student, etc?

I am a parent of an applicant and have been studying Clemson for some time. I reserve the right to be wrong :). But Clemson states their admission system is single notification date of 2/15 with the additional note that some applicants offered scholarships will be notified sooner (consistent with this board, and S having received scholarship/admittance early). But other Clemson web site info notes that recruiting scholarchips are awarded till 3/1, and restricted scholarships are awarded through March and April. Hope that helps. So 2/15 is the date for the majority of admissions. And I take it that not having heard sooner does not translate into no scholarship.

Thanks for the encouragement! We'll just keep our fingers crossed!

browse, would you mind posting your son's stats?

Good luck greenville and thanks Browse, just can't hadly stand waiting any longer! Also I would be remorse if i did not say congrats to my world champion COLTS, since I am a true fan from Indiana!!

I am also one of those whose top choice is Clemson... it's simply perfect, there's nothing else I can think of to describe it. I have also not heard yet, so I was wondering if, by my stats, someone could perhaps tell me what my chances look like:

*ACT- 28
*GPA- 4.65
*Rank- Top 15%
*All honors classes (i go to a small school so honors is the highest we offer)
*Palmetto Girls State Delegate 2006
*Student Body President
*Beta Club V. President
*Longgggg list of other clubs, positions, and awards

someone please let me know what you think!!!!1

YO YARRR

I am sorry, but I feel I shouldn't share any stats that are not my own. And my stats are nothing special :) . Again, I hope you hear good news from Clemson, and soon.

Word on the street is that decision packets are in the mail by Friday.

How in the world did you find that out?

that's nice to hear Intheknow

THX

and daisy, most of the clemson admissions counselors I've talked to are very straightforward and honest...Nice people

I'm so nervous. My application has been turned in for 6 months now. I turned it in Aug 16. I'm going crazy! I know I'm not getting any kind of awards, my Sat's aren't good enough, but just acceptance would make me feel good.
I'm going to be on the edge the whole next week!

Right there with you, jeanne07! My S applied early, too. Just wanted regular admissions, or even would be happy with the Bridge program. We hold our breath every day when we check the mailbox. Our mail carrier of over 10 years retired a few months ago. My Southern Living magazine did not come this month...now we're terrified our new mail carrier will mis-deliver something from Clemson and S won't get it!

greenville

Admissions system at Clemson has changed from when your D applied (02 grad per your note) and now with you S applying. They changed 2-3 years ago from a rolling admissions, where they process applications as they receive them, to the single notification date. All received by the deadline are considered and then the notifications go out at the same time. The notification date is published as 2/15, but InTheKnow suggested that they get into the mail a little sooner (I would guess to reduce phone calls to admissions office on 2/15). Again, wishing all CCers success.

Browse,
Thanks for the helpful info. Maybe we'll be able to send out orange Valentines this year!!

Clemson admission letters have been mailed.
