acceptance package?

has anyone received anything from the university besides the acceptance on the website?

Yeah. A medium envelope w/ 3 copies of the acceptance letter (1 for Immigration Quebec, 1 for Immigration Canada). And a large envelope with the course catalog, and the 2 slickest brochures I've seen from McGill - one for International student services and the other for all new students. These seem to be mailed from Buffalo, NY for the states.

when did you get it?

uh-oh, i didn't get the brochure for international students... what information does it have in it?

pamplemousse: If you didnt get the International student guide, you need to call admissions. The booklet contains copies of all the forms you will need to send to Canadian immigrations and the Quebec government and instructions on how to file them. It appears an essential document.

I haven't gotten anything yet, but that's probably because I live in Arizona (It takes a week to ship mail to/from Canada). Hopefully I get some mail today though.

will i ever get my package? i just checked the mail and nothing! i thought they were sending the packages from ny....i'm here in washington, d.c. why is it taking a week to get here??

I've got nothing in CT. Then again, I received my decision a little later than the rest of you because my midyear came in late.

I still havent got the package.

Did you accept the admission offer and pay the deposit?
I would guess you will receive the small envelope with the letter of acceptance, but not the large package until you accept the offer.

We live in Vermont. My d.'s acceptance was on Friday 3/18, she accepted on Sunday, 3/20. (McGill is her first, and only
love. If she hadnt been accepted my therapy bills would have been higher than the tuition. That is a joke if she is reading this!!!) I paid the deposit on3/20. The large package came on Friday, 3/25, and the acceptance letter a day later.

Hope this info helps.

has everyone else who received the large package accepted the offer? i haven't yet and won't until I visit and go to the meeting at the canadian embassy and all that. that's kind of a bummer....i was looking forward to going through all the information. oh well.

i didn't accept the offer and i got the big package.

same here, didn't accept offer and got package and i also live in PA

yah just to clarify... the package is sent to all admitted students. If you didn't receive one, you should contact admissions soon...
The international handbook is important, as it has all the info regarding immigration to canada, so make sure you get it. It's also available online at the ISS website. The Quebec Immigration office is also online too and the forms for immigration are located there. It's mostly in french so best contact McGill about getting things straight.
The Canadian/US border for mail is crazy, it takes forever to get things sent across because they have to scan all incoming packages (such as your acceptance) into the states... I remember it took a month and one week to receive my CAQ after it was sent out from Montreal! Crazy! Best of luck.

i wouldn't worry too much guys. i got accepted and didn't deposit or do anything, and I got worried reading this, that maybe I should call admissions. sure enough i drove down to the mailbox, and there was my large package. I'm in MA, so check mail today, if not today, then tomorrow. Best of luck! :D

I'm in CT and still no package. If it's not in on Monday, I'll call McGill's admissions office.

I got mine. That thing is big. Now all thats left is to accept and pay the deposit.

I still don't have anything. I called the admissions office at McGill and they said they sent my package out on March 22nd. Can anyone who has just received their package post when it was postmarked? Thanks!
