<p>If university of toronto is such a good school (it's one of the best in the world, no?), and expects rigorous grades frmo apllicants, why is the acceptance rate so high?</p>

<p>it’s actually not 68%, if you peruse their website you will find more updated and accurate stats. btw, most Canadian colleges are predicated on giving students with grades a chance to matriculate, many however don’t survive into second year. Most of my friends got dropped from U ofT or at least dropped from the programs. Students are weeded out after matriculating not before like the U.S. this how it works at Canadian universities in general.</p>
