Does anyone know where I can find the acceptance rate for Business Admin majors? Is this one of the more popular majors at UCI?
Thanks. I see 224 for Business Admin - undergraduate for 2016. Is there any data that gives the % acceptance rate?
The acceptance rate for 2016: 18.2%

Is there any reason why the yield is so low (13.9%) compared to another major like Business Econ (45% yield)?
Also, If you were looking to apply to UCI, is it true the school does not consider the major you are applying to, but rather looking only at your grades, SATs, essays, ECs? Would it make a difference then whether you apply as a Business Admin major vs. Business Econ or even Undeclared.
My understanding is the UCI admits first into the University and then into the major. Business Econ is not in the Business school but in the school of Social Sciences, so if the major of interest is Business Admin, I would apply to that specific major. You would have to look at each majors specific curriculum to see if the courses match your interest and career goals. I would never apply as Undeclared since switching into competitive majors can be difficult.
I would check to see what the requirements are for changing majors especially if applying as Undeclared. Also UCI does consider your alternate major, so you could apply for Business admin with an alternate of Business Econ that way you have both bases covered.
The Paul Merage school of business is hard to get into. It’s always impacted, and it’s a dog eat dog world out there lol. I agree with the idea of going with an alternative major like bus econ. Just to give you an idea, there are people who were rejected by Merage who were accepted to UCB and UCLA’s schools of business.
UCLA does not have an undergraduate business school. It offers an econ business degree and I believe you need a certain GPA in prerequisites to get in after you sophomore year. UCB does not admit freshman into its business school. You would apply during your sophomore year to begin business school in the junior year. It is very competitive to get in.
u/gumbymom why does computer science and engineering have a 100% admittance rate. I thought it was a competitive major.
