since this comes up so often i decided i'd just post this:
https://osr2.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/Access/DB/Frontends/runapp.pl

first search by all applicants and see how many people applied to the major, then search by admits and see how many people were admitted to the major. From there you can figure out the acceptance rates for specific majors.

example: 2164 applied to econ and 425 were admitted so thats a 19.6% acceptance rate for 2008

uhh if you scroll down it says 176 transfer admits for econ

transfer statistics:
looks like there were 968 econ apps with 176 admitted

18.18%

not bad

oops my bad, i did the total admits instead of just transfer admits.

i couldn’t get the link to work either…though econ was mainly what i wanted to look at, so thanks for reviving thread!

They’re trying to fix it:
http://osr2.berkeley.edu/twiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome:
OSR-CS’s website is being restored over the course of the fall 2009 semester. It will continue to feature commonly requested admission, enrollment, graduation, and survey data, but the data will be in the form of static (predefined) tables only. The website will no longer support interactive queries using institutional data (customized tables). Specialized requests for student data will need to be directed to OSR-CS staff (but see below).

I’m going to bookmark the [main page](<a href=“http://osr2.berkeley.edu/twiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome]main ”>http://osr2.berkeley.edu/twiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome ) for future reference. Thanks for notifying us of this.

^how do we determine the acceptance rates? It seems it just gives us proportions of the accepted class?

doesnt work for me either

i remember i posted in a thread links with all the stats for all ucs. maybe the thread is gone

^^^^

When in the hell are they gonna update this thing for Fall 2009?
