UCB Economics Avg GPA Admit?

Anyone have any idea of the average GPA of an econ admit at UCB? When you apply to cal its by department not by major right?
Here is the best I could come up with:
<a href="http://students.berkeley.edu/files/Admissions/9258_Info_TransAdm.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://students.berkeley.edu/files/Admissions/9258_Info_TransAdm.pdf</a>
Doesn't really say anything about GPA though.

On a side note I found this slightly interesting.

ty

^ i would also like to know

try this they can tell you everything:

[University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu/)

I gave it a try but to the best of my abilities I could not get it to list econ. Maybe you could take a stab at it and get us a screen capture? :D

yea, same here, i think they ended up just grouping it with the social sciences…

I was just told that a 3.78 was competitive for Berkeley’s economics program, note that I am an honors student (I don’t have TAP for UCB). I would say anything around a 3.8 is somewhat competitive as long as you can write some good essays as well as have nice ECs. It never hurts to try anyway.

I had a 4.0 so did many of Econ classmates at Berkeley.

thanks for the info transferuc I appreciate it.

good for you collegehopeful, I wish I had the patience to sit down and study every day and get a 4.0. sadly working full time and doing a full time course load has its repercussions. usually about 1 class per semester that I have to neglect more then I would like and get a B in. The way things are looking this semester it will probably end up the same way and I should be around a 3.7, but I figure if the avg is around 3.78-8 I’ll put in an app and hopefully I’ll get lucky.
