<p>I was just told that a 3.78 was competitive for Berkeley’s economics program, note that I am an honors student (I don’t have TAP for UCB). I would say anything around a 3.8 is somewhat competitive as long as you can write some good essays as well as have nice ECs. It never hurts to try anyway.</p>

<p>good for you collegehopeful, I wish I had the patience to sit down and study every day and get a 4.0. sadly working full time and doing a full time course load has its repercussions. usually about 1 class per semester that I have to neglect more then I would like and get a B in. The way things are looking this semester it will probably end up the same way and I should be around a 3.7, but I figure if the avg is around 3.78-8 I’ll put in an app and hopefully I’ll get lucky.</p>
