I heard Stanford has a mean rejection letter and Rutgers has an invreibly nice acceptance letter. Know of any other schools that have letters that stick out?

i wud also like to know about this. If there was a site that showed the letters of each colleges acceptance and rejection it wud be great

what do you mean stanford has a mean rejection letter?

"The Stanford Admissions Committee was appalled that such an idiotic and underqualified candidate thought he would stand a chance at stanford"

seriously, what do you mean?

haha this would be interesting to know..

ie, it was blunt and just basically said something along the lines of "we're sorry to inform you that you didn't make it. too bad." haha, but in somewhat more eloquent terms... unlike other schools (ie harvard) who go "we're deeply regretful that we are unable to offer you a position in the class of 2010... HOWEVER we know you are an amazing candidate who will flourish blahasdfa" and so forth

Honestly, rejection letters kind of suck either way. And once I read the first sentence of my letters to determine that they were, in fact, rejections, I pretty much quit reading.

When we get the letters can we just tell if it's gonna be a rejection or acceptance letter... like by the weight of the envelope or something?

i think when you get accepted you usually get a big envelope

yes, and remember waitlist decision envelopes are medium sized, cause you get an extra paper to accept or decline their spot ^^

i wonder do u apply for housing before enrolling or do u have to enroll first then pick housing.

Princeton gave a friend two letters. One saying how sweet they are, and annother rejecting him. Another friend got a bunch of stuff from MIT when she was accepted (I think a cardboard tube that exploded confetti when she opened it).

It would be cruel to send a gigantic envelope that starts off really positive but is rejection. Something like "The class of 2011 was the hardestt one to select but we believe we got the best studetns" and so forth talking up the school then on the last line they say "but too bad, so sad, you were not accepted".
