Acceptance, rejection, & deferral letters?

Hi guys!
I was reading UPenn’s threads (anxious about two of my friends’ results tomorrow!) and saw that someone posted what acceptance, rejection, and deferral letters looked like.

Could someone post those of Brown from previous years, too? :)

I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to tell from reading the letter…they all look about the same, as far as I know.

From 2006 but…

Bruno-lol I know I’ll be able to tell from reading but I wanted to know if they started with different phrases so I’ll know sooner…

Thanks, thegildedage! Those letters are looonnggg

Does anyone have like accepted to brown/deferred or rejected PLME letters? Or deferred to brown/rejected from PLME?

I can offer that my letter (acceptance to Brown/PLME) didn’t talk about PLME at all until the second paragraph - it just talked about my acceptance to Brown, and I screamed, and then I read on to see the PLME bit.

Oh cool.
I’m so anxious. D:

I mean, it says Congratulations as the first word if you’re accepted if I remember correctly.

Thank you.
I had my first rejection dream last night. D: it hurt so much.

Dear Potterpie:

I hope you are as pleased to receive this decision notification as I am to provide it. You have been admitted to the 243rd class to enter The College of Brown University and to the Program in Liberal Medical Education. I congratulate you on your record of academic and personal accomplishments, to which can now be added the honor of being accepted as an Early Decision applicant to the PLME. You will be one of 1,450 first-year students who individually and collectively display a remarkable diversity of strengths and interests. Each of you was chosen not only for what we believe you contribute to our academic community, but also for what you will gain from the wonderful opportunities that distinguish undergraduate education at Brown.

Your official admission decision letter has been mailed to you and I ask that you read it carefully, as it contains more detailed information than is possible for us to provide here. If you are a candidate for financial aid, your financial aid award letter is included with the decision letter; you may also access that information online. Please remember that as a student admitted under an Early Decision plan, you are required to withdraw all applications to other colleges, and you may not initiate any new applications.

We know that this Early Decision admission will not only relieve you of the anxiety of applying to college, but more importantly, it will permit you to focus your efforts on learning for the rest of the year. Please remember that this offer of admission is contingent upon your maintaining a record of the same general quality as that on which we based our decision.

On behalf of the faculty and President Ruth Simmons, please accept my congratulations on your admission. Please do not hesitate to write to me if you have any questions that remain after you receive your official decision letter.

…

Hope you get this letter, hahaha

This is the acceptance letter for the class of 2014 (found it in last year’s ED thread).

Dear xxxxxxxx,

Congratulations! I am delighted to inform you that you have been admitted to the Class of 2014, the 247th class to enter The College of Brown University. You will be one of 1,485 students who individually and collectively display a remarkable diversity of strengths and interests. You were chosen not only for what you can contribute to our intellectual community, but also for what you will gain from the myriad academic and extracurricular opportunities that distinguish undergraduate education at Brown.

Your official admission decision letter has been mailed to you and I ask that you read it carefully, as it contains more detailed information than is possible for us to provide here. Please remember that as a candidate admitted under an Early Decision plan, you are required to withdraw all other applications and not initiate any new ones.

If you are a candidate for financial aid, your financial aid award letter will be included with your official admission decision letter. This information is also available online. If you have any questions about your aid award, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at (401) 863-2721. In the coming months you will receive additional mailings from us that will address your matriculation plans. If you have questions or concerns between now and next fall, however, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We hope that this Early Decision admission will enable you to enjoy the remainder of your secondary school free of concerns about your college options, and allow you to continue your focus on learning. Please remember that this offer of admission is contingent upon your maintaining an academic and social record at the same level that has brought you admission to Brown at this early date.

On behalf of the Brown faculty and President Ruth Simmons, please accept my congratulations on your admission. I look forward to welcoming you to Brown next fall.

Yours sincerely,

James S. Miller
