Likely Letters

So a couple of schools have already started sending out ‘likely letters’ and I was wondering if Brown does likely letters? I was deferred ED so I highly doubt I would get one but i’m curious just the same :)

Last year, for the first time, Brown sent out either likely letters or early you've been accepted letters (if you search this forum you should get this info). It was an experiment to see whether such letters helped with yield rates. I wouldn't be surprised, given the elimination of early programs by Harvard and Princeton, if Brown sent these out this year.

FWIW, IIRC, the likely letters sent out numbered less than 100 and may have been as few as 50.

So early March? Exciting!

yeah! Do students who are deferred ED ever get likely letters? Just wondering.... :)

Probably not.

has anyone gotten one? I wonder if they're doing them this year...

i dont think they've done it yet b/c if they did there should be a lot more posts about it...

yeah, good point. It's getting pretty close to April 1 though. Maybe next week.

So do likely letters only go to athletes?

I heard from someone that Brown sent out less than 100 likely letters this year and that almost all of them went to athletes.

I'm surprised no one on CC has gotten one though.
