Suppose IF I get in Pton ED, how important is mid-year report? Since I am taking most demanding schedule and experiencing 'senioritis', my perfect record of As is now broken. I think I will get 2-4 Bs and maybe a C in worst case of scenario. Will Pton rescide my 'acceptance'?

Hey, I have the same question. What's the lowest the GPA can go before they put you on probation or rescind?

dude, same with me! Im taking really hard classes this year and now I'm so scared about my grades.

GOD no kidding. As it is my second quarter grades have already slipped, so I'm really screwed if P-ton doesn't want me.

make that four of us...im on my knees every night praying to god i dont have to submit my nine other apps with my worst semester grades this year...

I counted. If I'm rejected I have to write 11 essays during break.

I think if you are a straight-A student when applying Princeton, you still need to maintain AT MOST two B's the fall semester of senior year to be safe that Princeton will not rescind you.

Yeah, I might have to catch "mono"... I'm tired of work

No way. See, when you get in ED, you have to withdraw all other applicaitons, meaning if rescinded, you have no where else to go. For princeton to rescind, there has to be a dramitic drop. Not like A to B drop but harsh drop or a crimnal conviction. Just relax, if you got in, nothing short of a personal WWIII will merit a rescind

A college expert responded:

"Question: Under what conditions would a college take back an acceptance?

Colleges do not like to renege on admission decisions but will do so on occasion. This most typically happens when a student's grades drop SIGNIFICANTLY after the student is admitted. In other words, if an A student suffers a bout of senioritis and drops to a B average, it's not a dealbreaker. But if the grades plummet to C's and D's (or worse), it can be. If there are extenuating circumstances behind this change in GPA (e.g., an illness or family crisis), they should be explained by the school counselor. The college will probably be sympathetic and stand by their original acceptance, sometimes putting the student on academic probation when the school year starts.

Colleges may also revoke acceptances if the student is suspended from school or arrested outside of school. Again, because the college does NOT want to do this, the case will be carefully evaluated and the verdict will most likely depend on the nature of the infraction and the circumstances surrounding it.

Finally, if a college should discover that an applicant was dishonest on his or her application, that is likely to lead to a rescinded admission, too.

Best wishes. I hope all your admission news is good."

So, B average is okay if we are already accepted to a college. Just don't fail any class, and we should be okay.

Personal WWIII...why does that sound...fun?

My friend got in last year and he called in to ask what type of GPA he needed to maintain and they said if he drops below a C average for any given marking period (<2.0 UW), they will "re-evaluate" him and most likely rescind his acceptance

SWEET!

Now all I need to do is get in....

Wow I can certainly see some grade problems if you people get into Princeton.

What if I get Bs in ALL classes?

one of my friends had a D for third quarter but then raised the grade to an overall B average during 4th quarter for his AP engrish class and is now alive and well in princeton :)

just do your best

if you guys get in, why would you wanna risk it by slacking off?

Oh, I'd never never risk it, but it's good to know the limit, because I DO know that I will not be working as hard (I've already got baddd senioritis). I'll try to maintain my grades, but it'll be nice ot know I can relax a little.

(wow, this was very poorly worded)

Strangly, I don't have senioritis...I had semesteritis last week as I finished up finals (okay, mostly, I have one more on Tuesday) but no senioritis...Grades are to fun to mess with...
