Will my Acceptance be rescinded?

Hey guys, I got accepted ED for Princeton but am wondering if I will be rescinded. IM SO SCURRED. Im not even kidding.

I put that I will be taking a regular 6 courses for my high school, but because of the recent permanent departure of a friend, it will be up to me to take my little brother to school, which has no busing system. So i must put in a late arrival period, so i ll actually only be taking 5 courses.

I put that i will probably finish a correspondence to boost my GPA and rank by mid semester, but unfortuantely, i will probably be finished after semester ends and get my final score in the third quarter. However, my not finishing this correspondaence will not hurt my rank or gpa.

i put that my parent were merely separated, not divorced. however, about a week before i got my admissioon, my dad told me that they did actually get a divorce. I dont know why he didnt tell me this before (although i suspected it), but i think he was just waiting to come back up here (he lives in california) to tell me personally. c’est la vie.

so whaddaya think? im scared that these “misrepresentations” will keep me out of Princeton. :(

Don't worry about it. They won't care much.

None of those things are serious enough to get your admission rescinded. You worry too much, hobbes.

i would be afraid too!, but i worry too much, i dont think there is actually a problem

Colleges understand things like this. Even Princeton. Just update the admissions office, there should be no problems.

Joey

man.. i dont know.. better write a letter to them... looks pretty serious.. they do want mid year reports for admitted students...

first thing: they ask before recinding you why your grades or classes were different. Helping your little brother won't get them all mad. They onlycare about insignificant cases.

second thing:they probably won't care...I mean you did say "probably" that doesn't mean "for sure"

third thing: I doupt that they will mind that your parets are divorced, not separated. If they do mind, like before, they will ask you about it.

I don't believe that it is that easy to get recinded. Usually it would be for grades that dropped suddenly with no exuse.

They will only rescind your app because:

Your grades drop significantly (like A- 1st quarter average to C-)

You intentionally gave them false information

You do something wrong, like a crime or cheating, etc

Since you intended to do these things that circumstances dictated you could not, your value as a student who seeks to use his/her inner potential is unchanged. You have the desire to do these things, and honest misinformation and events out of your control changed that. No college is going to look down on that. If you do send them a letter, explain why the things are different than what you originally thought, and be sure to mention or indicate that you were, within your knowledge, completely honest at the time of submittal.

btw, what the hell am i supposed to do with the mid-year report? and speaking of grades dropping, does anyone else have senioritis?

Yeah, hobbes, those problems are way too minute (admissions-wise) for you to be rescinded.

And yes, sicarii, I have senioritis. Big time. Well, I did first semester anyways...haven't started second, so can't say for sure.

whew alright.

ii have had seniorities. i think i might get a B in like all my classes. or maybe a couple of A's mixed in there somewhere. Most likely 3 A's and 3 B's.

haha senioritis rocks. and you haven't started school yet?! thats crazy. i hate HISD

Yea that's so sick Philntex, three weeks of winter vacation? How much do you get for spring break?

Not only have I started school already, I'm not done with first semester yet so I can't quite get with the senioritis, blahhh.

Just one week for SB. Yeah, this is the longest Winter Break my district's ever allowed. I have no idea why. The little underlings (or underclassmen, as some people at other schools call them) had to take exams through the 21st, which is later than we've ever had them. But for seniors, we were out at 3:30 p.m. on the 17th. good times. I don't wanna go back to school! kicks an screams

pets in zante's general direction Exams after break suck. I don't know how I'm going to get used to that...

haha, I AM used to exams after break...they're still coming up, hanging over my senioritis-infected head. Ew.

Oh I appreciate the petting, but we don't have official midterms, so they're just regular tests that count in the midyear report. And since we're seniors, we dont have finals either whee =)

And we have 2 weeks for spring break, so I guess we're even.

we got 10 days for christmas and one week of spring break ::crys::

aww! Do you get another week off randomly? Or longer summer?

we get 3 days off next week for teh end of the semester and presidents day and we graduate the day after memorial day and i think thats it except a couple halfsdays (2) for conferences...

We get MLK day, 2 days for Presidents, and classes end May 17. =)
