to check if app complete, go to view credentials and scroll down and if app complet look at the most recent date. that is when complete. Does anyone know when the next batch will be admitted by any chance. I am so upset I did not find out today

sweet. looks like i should be hearing back in about ten days if this trend continues.

lol@gumba...umich should have to CONVINCE you to go there

does anyone know anything about the residential colleges? for example, how quickly they fill up or do people actually like them?

:( UMich received my application on the 24th of October...yet still no decision.

tears hair out It's so frustrating to wait...

Unfortunately, like I tell my daughter, there's not a whole lot you can do about so put your energy into something productive and it won't seem as long a wait. Sounds good in theory :)

My daughter had her app in on 10/20. The other stuff (hs transcript/recs etc) had already been submitted prior to the app.. Received email 3 of 4 on 10/23. Since then not a peep. I think she will call before Thanksgiving break this week if she does not hear anything.

Got accepted this morning.
Engineering
App. completed 11/3

OOS
33 ACT
4.0 gpa (top 1% of class)

Seems to me like they've only accepted 3.8s or higher up to this point. Anyone with 3.7 or lower has been saying they applied a while ago but still haven't heard back yet. Don't know if this means they will be getting deferred, held on to for further examination to compare with other 3.7s or lower or what.

edit: i think it only includes oosers, or i havent read this thread as well as i should have

what is the hardest school to get into?

A dumb question. Where in the application status does the message 'accecped' appear? All I saw on D's Admissions Application Status page was the two programs that she applied to. Nowhere does the word 'accecpted' appear.

i would say the b-school is hardest to get into with the preferred admit program. next in line would be engineering (which is like the LSA honors college).

I sent in all my stuff (hs transcript, recs etc.) before 9/26. I submitted my app last on 9/26. I recieved my 4th email 10/16. My last part of my application was formally marked complete 10/19. I have recieved no decision :(.

I do not think she will hear a decision in November.

the whole thing seems kind of random: friend had everything in 10/27 heard today he was accepted, only 3.2GPA---5 legacy though ;D

It seems that the really fast turn around is happening in the engineering school, not LS&A.
My daughter applied late in September, and got her UMID about a week later. WA said the application was complete on 10/18. She got in on 11/17 with just shy of a 4.0 and 33 on the act.

zkevin

I agree she will not hear before the end of the month. Like you, her HS transcripts/recs were all submitted in September.
The app was submitted a little later like I said.
I think getting the 4th email would be nice.
A couple of years ago, my other daughter had all her stuff in mid October. Didn't hear, didn't hear...came January and still nothing. She called and discovered that everything was and had been in...it was a glitch on their part...her acceptance letter came less than a week later.
So, have faith everyone!

Yea...I think they're accepting only the absolutely best at this moment...and those on the borderline or just a bit lower are kept to be compared with others. Make sense. Lol, but I'd rather know now that I'm straight out denied or accepted...I don't think I can handle a deferral and have to go through the wait again sigh I'm so stressed. But congrats to all those accepted and knowing they're going!!!

What does the last email say?

Is it:

"Thank you for applying to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. We have received your application and have begun to process it."

?

the first paragraph in email 4/4 tells you your UM ID, then goes on to say "Thank you for applying to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor...." in the second paragraph.
