My S got a call last night and was accepted. As you can imagine he and we are elated.

Congrats to those accpted and deferred and sorry to hear about your daughter DoReMi. I’m clinging HARD to the belief that all of our kids will end up where they’re supposed to be. :)

Thanks GSOMTMom. I sure hope we’re right about that. Congrats to theatrekidsdad!! So exciting! As a side note, today is also the day my D’s high school announces the leads for spring musical. This could end up being a really rough day lol!

Congrats on the acceptance! Run over and post in the HS Class of 2014 threads!

And for the declines…movin on that’s what we do here!!

Theatrekidsdad, congratulations! Was this for MT or Acting?
Inspired59, congrats! It’s not over yet! we’ll be strong for the next round! Also, MT or Acting for your son?
DoReMiMom, D will land where she will shine! Hope Spring Musical is a great production, last one of her HS career…yeeowzer!

My S was accepted into the MT program.

Awesome, congrats! Theatrekidsdad!

puma69 -Still in consideration for MT. It appears just by this site that they accepted a lot of boys this go around and they still have the January and February which are heavy months, so he is hopeful, but since they accept so few new freshman, the chances are slim, but we are keeping our fingers crossed.

They did seem to accept more early than usual, but congrats to those who were accepted! I audition in the spring and would absolutely love to get into this school- it’s really a gem of a program.

My S’s audition isn’t until March! Fingers crossed there are still a couple of spots left for guys at that point…

Hi all. Elon MT mom here. I just want to clarify that if you are accepted into the MT program, you will get a call from the head of the department. Please don’t assume an OnTrack acceptance is for both academic acceptance and MT. This seems to cause confusion every year. If you have any doubts, I am sure you can call the department.

Also, if they hold true to previous years, no further decisions will be made till all the auditions are completed and they have seen everyone.

Received an acceptance call a couple nights ago. Super relieved!

Congratulations!

My daughter got her call Thursday night and we are soooo excited! She just finished her academic application today. I’m surprised they accepted her without it, we were just hoping to save money on an application fee if she wasn’t accepted. Does anyone know how difficult it is to obtain the academic acceptance once given an offer from the MT department?

Sorry to reply so late… My D was accepted MT and university. She (and we) very excited and relieved!

D is deferred. Has her audition scheduled for February. I reinforced the need for excellent grades this marking period. Elon is definitely in her top five.

Just wanted to share that the late audition date maybe won’t be a problem. S didn’t audition until the very last audition date of the year last year and was accepted. He’s now at BW, however. I loved Elon, and since it has such strong academics and my daughter lives 1.5 hours away, it was my top choice among the schools to which he was accepted, since we couldn’t afford NW. He loves his program, though.

Just curious…this has been my daughters first choice since Junior year of high school. She was waitlisted for BFA MT. Anyone know of any kids getting off the wait list? Anyone know how many are on the wait list?

dramamom5, I know of three boys a couple years ago, who were made offers off of the waitlist within a week or so of their initial waitlist status. Two didn’t accept as they were sure of their final decision at another school, but it’s possible at least one of the three was made the offer by Elon when the other didn’t accept. So just not sure how many initial offer spots wound up going to a waitlist student. 2012 was the first year Elon used a waitlist.

My son is in that 2012 class and there are students from the waitlist. I would contact the department and let them know you are very interested in case someone turns down their offer.
