@NewYorkSon WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!! SO SO SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!

Thank you. We are so excited. Its been such an up and down week!! I know you all understand that.

Looks very much like they are notifying in waves based on audition date. My S auditioned on campus on Feb. 1, and he got the good news this past Monday along with several other friends who auditioned either at NY Unifieds or on Feb. 1. Congrats on the great news, @NewYorkSon!

I auditioned Feb. 1st, along with two friends, and I have yet to be notified but they got their letters about two weeks ago! All of this seems so arbitrary :/

glm1196 did your friends get acceptances or rejections?

Big envelope arrived from Ithaca the day after status changed on portal!!

Raam1012 They got rejections, so maybe that has something to do with it?

Maybe? Sounds like you are still in it - maybe a waitlist since you haven’t received the acceptance yet? I would think that is good news for you :)

I know of a brunette legit soprano who is turning down her Ithaca acceptance now that was accepted to Michigan. That’s one open spot on the way! :)

That is when things will change all over the place when people start accepting and then notifying schools they are turning down. Hang in there everyone

Have a question. When you got folder from Ithaca did it have any scholarship info relating to merit or talent? Does this come later? This Is all so confusing seems each school is different

There was a merit-based Presidential Scholarship award in my S’ acceptance package. The letter states that need-based financial aid offers will come later, but doesn’t say when.

I was surprised to be honest there wasn’t anything in ours. He is 12 of 336 kids and has high ACT scores

MaMTma did he have to apply for an scholarship or was it just sent

I am wondering if they left it out by mistake there was no information about need based financial aid or anything in the folder just his acceptance letter and form for deposit.

D got a Harcourt scholarship (academic/talent) on a separate page in her acceptance folder. She did not apply for it – it came automatically. This was not part of a financial aid package. According to the letter, that will come later.

That is my point we didnt get anything even refering to a financial package coming later or anything. Seemed like something was missing. Well will just have to wait and see. They are on spring break this week.

I don’t mean to imply that he should have a scholarship just saying I would have thought something relating to financial packages coming later

Yes, I totally understand – that’s why I posted the information. It certainly doesn’t hurt to give them a call. I wonder if the admissions office works through spring break? You might try them tomorrow just to see.

@NewYorkSon, the IC website says that all incoming undergraduates are automatically considered for several merit-based scholarships, including President’s and Harcourt, but there are many other scholarships available to “high-achieving students who demonstrate financial need” for which applications might be necessary. There are quite a few Theatre Arts scholarships listed on the IC website here – <a href=“H&S Endowed Scholarships | Ithaca College”>H&S Endowed Scholarships | Ithaca College; – but there’s no link to an application so it looks like consideration for those is automatic once you submit the FAFSA. I think a call to Financial Aid is in order; hope they’re open over IC’s spring break because the deadline for those scholarships that require an application is March 15!
