Any news yet? I'm still waiting... :(.

Not heard of any acceptances ... not got any decision myself. However, some of my friends have been sent rejection letters (emails) yesterday.

Is it that rejections are sent earlier, and acceptances afterwards??

whatever ... Anyways, not receiving the rejection letter yet has increased my hopes ... (could it also be that rejections are sent in batches??)

Anybody ... any idea?

you are overthinking the whole situation. I suggest you relax and wait to check your mailbox. One day you will find a letter either big or small which either says you are accepted, rejected or waitlist and then you will know your decision.

Thanks for the suggestion. That's almost exactly what I am doing .... (except the relaxing part, of course) ....

Mailbox? I guess all letters will also be copied by email ... If the letter comes by snail mail, it will be next yr when I receive it ...

So, will be checking by email ... and best of luck to all as you continue to do the same ...

Kathmandu? Gee yeah if you wait for snail mail the letter might never arrive. In that case check your e-mail or even call them and you will know.

Wow! Kathmandu really lives upto it's expectations round the globe!:D

Got my decision by email today at 7:00 GMT. It's really frustrating. I have been waitlisted.

Seems that I was right to assume rejections were mailed earlier, and acceptances afterwards. Missed out the waitlist decisions though.

I got waitlisted as well... Oh well, I guess.

Count me in as well - waitlisted. Really thought I had shot, guess I was wrong.
Btw, deos anybody know the statistics of the no. of students who get waitlisted and then accepted at F&M? Searched everywhere but couldn't find anything.
Thanx.

hehe waitlisted too :p

heyyy wait a minute...have they waitlisted everyone from the Indian Subcontinent??? Did you people apply for finaid?

They don't like us applicants from the Philippines, Nepal, India, and Bangladesh. We're all international students... Psh. What's that supposed to mean?

theyre registering protests against the 'diverse' student body :p

meh- don't care one way or the other. F and M is just not right for me, I should have spent the time on another college which fit me better.Oh well no point moaning now. All the best with your other decisions folks :)

I am intl student from Bulgaria, and got waitlisted as well. What, is it a nice way to basically reject you since they seem to have waitlisted a lot of ppl. Anyway, I really thought I had a decent shot, but I was wrong obviously.
Good luck!

You guys are lucky, from my school initially everyone got rejected outright in the ED 2s, and of the nearly twenty who applied one made it a nice debator(declamations), won national competetions, while all the likes of best sportsman, IPHO team members....rejected........

Wow, I did not know that F&M is that competitive. I considered it moderetaly difficult to get in, but not that much...
ahh...anyway...

Hey guys,

I was told that they actually waitlist their strongest RD applicants!!! This is because they expect these people to enroll elsewhere (we haven't committed to enroll by choosing RD instead of ED I or ED II) and do thereby try to increase their yield of admitted/enrolling students.

I don't know. I'm not too sure where F&M's standards lie. In the past (for my school anyway), people with 900 SAT scores and 2.3 - 2.9 GPAs have been accepted.

where did you hear that Jeff? Ahhh I suppose that itll make me feel better if its actually true- I din't really expect to be waitlisted with my stats- maybe I'm being overconfident :(

I think Jeff is in the right track - I am sure most of us, if not all, consider F&M a safety-school and expected to be admitted and the college may have waitlisted us simply because they might have thought that if accepted elsewhere, we would not be attending F&M. Kinda presumptuous, don't you think?

A friend of mine is the daughter of an admission officer at a Ivy League school and she told me about that.
Actually, I considered F&M as a safety as well and was really disappointed about hearing this decision. So I'm looking forward to all the other decisions coming out on March 31, 2005!!!
