bdwaymom; I agree! I'm finally going to get some sleep as all of this craziness is over; just one more school to hear from and that won't be for awhile as it was a RD application! Congratulations again and good luck with your son's decision!

got into premed today! wooot!
best friend got into engineering!

Hello everyone... I'm new to these forums, but I just had a quick question.

I got accepted to UMass-Amherst today (Chemistry major), Commonwealth College, but I haven't recieved my admissions packet yet.

My question is: Does this packet contain any scholarship offers that I may have recieved, or would those have been mentioned on the online admissions update?

i got accepted to pre-med too at umass amherst!

Mercedes, my son got a Chancellors Talent Award in a separate mailing from the Music Department.

I got the John and Abagail Adams Scholarship Free Tuition mailing from my school, from UMass.

Pre-English and Commonwealth College! Wooo!

Wicki - when did you find out about the John and Abigail Adams scholarship? And who sent you the letter? In our district the problem is whether you are in the top 25% of students taking the MCAS, not whether you achieve advanced - my daughter was advanced in both Math and English but we haven't heard a word about the tuition waiver.

Still havn't heard.....sickkkkk

Carmen- The letter was dated in October, but I didn't get mine until November, around the 1st week. I think that all letters though have been given because you are suppose to send them in when applying and I had to send mine in seperately. So, I suppose if you didn't hear by now then chances are the scores weren't in the top 25% :(. My grade is 40, I got both advanced, but only 7 in my grade had advanced on both. So, in my case anyone who got advanced on both automatically got the scholarship.

Does UMASS have rolling admissions? He applied in early Nov. has not even received an acknowledgement from the add. dept. though he emailed them and they said they would start communicating in middle January for reg. decision applicants, they seem way behind all the other schools who at least acknowledge your app. way before and continue to update. Thanks.

My son received a letter acknowledging his app and giving a # to check his status on their webpage. He had applied online, so the letter came quickly, but they were slow in recording the receipt of the other materials he sent.

Congrats to you all getting in - what kind of stats do you have? I'm worried...GPA 3.14, challenging course load, 650,650,460 SAT. I suck at math.

I have a 3.75 GPA, and My SATs were 550, 570, and 540... I got a 28 on ACT, and I have a lot of extracurriculars and community service. I also wrote a killer essay and had awesome teacher recs.

Hi PRKid, my son has a 3.6 GPA, SATS: Math 690, CR 580, Writing 570; he has alot of EC's and a great essay. Accepted into Engineering,
