They say it shouldn’t, but then again after accepting all the EA students, how many spots do they have open really? But I don’t doubt they’ll give you a fair shot.

@corinneh
That made me VERY nervous because they say it’s rolling starting with August applications and I applied beginning of November and I still haven’t heard anything…

That sounds like a great dorm, but when I look on the website about Sewall, it turns out is mandatory to be part of the residence program there, and you have to be in the College of Arts and Science or the School of Journalism to apply. Since he will be in the College of Engineering, do not think he can participate in this program. Anyone with any other recommendations for best dorms at CU Boulder? Being an engineering major seems to be limiting him somewhat, especially since he does not want to live in the engineering dorm.

My son applied Nov. 6th and he has still not heard! I do not know why it is taking so long! Congratulations to all of you who have received their decision!

@Rousse54 I applied on the 7th for engineering as well so I don’t think there’s much to worry about. Maybe engineering is taking longer to make a decision for? If you don’t mind me asking what are your son’s GPA and SAT/ACT scores?

My son applied to engineering and we are still waiting too. He didn’t get his app in until early December. It is definitely an exercise in patience!

Sounds like engineering is the hold up here. I wish everyone (and their son/daughter 's) the best of luck!

My son has a 4.0 unweighted, SAT was 1890 but ACT was 31…He did way better on ACT than SAT. How about you? Good luck! He is applying as aerospace engineering major.

I was just accepted today! Don’t know if I will end up attending but I look forward to potentially meeting you all. Good luck to those who haven’t heard back yet! From Telluride, CO by the way.

Congratulations Dayohey! Was that Arts and Sciences? Did you get something in mail or did you check your mycuboulder account?

Thanks! Yeah it was Arts and Sciences, I’m a potential International Affairs major. And I check the mycuboulder portal site and it said accepted.

I just got in today, applied round Nov. 25

Aerospace engineering

3.55 UW
1560 (M + CR)

congrats to all

will I get any scholarship money?

@azzajack
Congrats! However that does put me in a scary situation because I applied November 6th for computer engineering and I haven’t heard anything yet. But I got a 3.23 UW and 1220 SAT… eh I’m not looking too hot :(

My son also has applied for aerospace engineering. He applied on Nov. 6th and stilll has not heard! Yikes, why hasn’t he heard yet? Are you out of state? He is from California. Congratulations to you, though!

Unfortunately, Colorado had to push back their ER response date to February 2nd. They’ve had an unexpected amount of applicants this year.

@nmcm007
I knew that, but I also recall they go on a first come first serve basis (like August applicants first and so on) so seeing that someone who applied later than I did for the same school got in before me is kinda putting me on edge.

Thanks,

Yes I am OOS from Cali

I do think they admit a lot of people, but I got scared when I saw their GPA range

I think it was like 3.66 - 4.00 UW for Engin.

They just take some time

3 days ago I was on the first status message,

and then suddenly it said accepted

so just stay patient,

Best of Luck

My son applied OOS for A & S and still hasn’t heard. He has been in contact with the admissions office & knows his file was completed on time (somewhere near the end of November). He has a 3.67 and a 33 ACT, so he hopefully will be accepted. He would need a scholarship, though, so it’s a real wait-and-see thing for us.

kelsmom - I have literally the SAME exact stats as your son…I think he’ll get money and invited to the honors program as well :).

Oh and just a quick aside to all I called my state representative and she said applications we’re up 12% this year. Just goes to show state schools are now going to be more competitive with this economy at hand.

Emerica: Students who applied to the same school as you, but later, were accepted? Which school did you apply to? Colorado does state its process to be of first come, first serve, however, they can easily override their policy if they have applicants who are easy admits.
