I applied to the engineering school as well. I don’t doubt they can override their policy, but that makes me nervous because it puts me in that situation where I wasn’t good enough in the beginning so they had to jump over me for the time being.

Congrats to those accepted and best wishes to those still waiting.

Hi All, My son whom is an OOS from CA applied in early Oct. His GPA is 4.0W or 3.8UW, and his SAT scores are M 800- CR 740 1540 total. He was accepted on 1/8 for Aerospace engineering. Has anyone heard how many Presidential scholarships will be given out and what the stats might be? Also he would like to be in honors engineering and in Adrews dorm. Should he apply for other dorms while he is waiting to hear from the honors dept? Does anyone know how it all works?

Hurray! Just checked MyCUboulder and my son is accepted to the Engineering school-open option engineering. We are in state for those of you who are still waiting.

I am assuming they will send something in the mail to follow up.

Congrats!

I’m still in process (out of state - NJ)

Thanks Emerica. I know you are as anxious as we were. I was shocked to finally see a different message today. It seemed like it would never happen. Good luck to you. You should hear soon!

Emerica,
My son still has not heard yet from CU. His application is " still being processed". He has had this status message on his account for several weeks. It is getting old…Looks like we are still in the same boat…Eleven more days to go maximum!

7 days left… closing in on 6… I’m getting anxious now

I got accepted last week and I applied in October

OOS,
Got accepted with a 2.8 UW gpa and 1870 SATs (1310/1600)

Emerica,
No admission decision for us either. I just think appling to the School of Engineering takes longer… Still, it is driving us crazy! Or it is me, my son is pretty calm and collected about it! It just seems like everyone is hearing but us!

Haha I’m hoping Engineering takes longer… it’s driving me crazy only because it’s my top choice AND Rutgers is giving me the same problem (where everyone else is hearing but me). But we’ll hear within the next 5 days!

Emerica: I’m from NJ too man and Rutgers is getting KILLED with app’s this year. They’re getting so many they said they will probably have to establish another database. With this economy everyone is applying to the state schools.

I figured that but I have friend who applied and hear back a week later, and it’s been taking me 3+ months to hear back.

Hey guys, Im from NJ also. I applied to the engineering school and got deffered. they want to see my first semester grades (which luckily are all A and A+'s). I applied in early october though. The engineering school is definitely the hardest program to get in to at CU. I didnt even bother applying to rutgers. I hated the campus and way to much NJ there for my likings haha. good luck, hope to see you guys at CU. Its an amazing campus and I love Boulder

haha yeah i didn’t even bother applying to Rutgers either…I gotta get out of NJ.

I actually just called up CU last Monday cause I was wondering about my status and the counselor for my state said she didn’t receive my 9th and 10th grade transcripts from my old school. I freaked out until she said that she’d call them up and get them the next day and she said I could call next Monday to hear my decision. Man, I got off the hook BIG time.

hey amarch53, what was your gpa/sat scores?

I just got in! 3.0 UW/3.3 W GPA, 1950 SAT, pretty good ECs, and a well-BS’ed essay.

Oh and I applied in the middle of November.

Congrats leila!

Thanks! Hope you find your decision out soon!
