Hi, but I was accepted in Stanford with only a 2.95 G.P.A, and a 26 on my ACT. I am not really involved in any of my clubs in my public high school, and didn’t take any honors courses. I am on the JV soccer team. I am not a legacy, nor rich. No one I know works at Stanford. I am going into pre-med and am still in shell shock, because I was rejected by nearly every other school(Including Harvard, Princeton and Yale) except for CSUN, and LMU. I am Caucasian, and only volunteered a bit at my local hospital. How did I get in?
Are you the first person in your family to attend college? Maybe your essay and teacher recommendations blew the socks off the admissions officers. Also, your geographical area (ex: Wyoming) or school could have helped if your peers tend to score lower than the national average. Anyway, Congrats on Stanford!
I live in California
Mm hmmm.
Believe me, that’s what I thought! It’s just impossiblel!
Have you contacted admissions and asked your question?
Will do it tomorrow.
Since you are questioning the decision, I would definitely confirm with admissions there was no mistake or mix up. If everything is fine, please update this thread since I am sure all posters would love to know. Best of luck and Congratulations!!
Just curious, why it took you so long to question this decision since I assume you have known for a while?
I don’t buy it.
Sorry for taking so long, I was eating dinner. Anyways, It was always in the back of my mind, but my friends and peers at my school recently pressured me to check it again.
Still not buying it.
Yeah. Maybe it is a mistake, USC Wolverine. My friends told me the exact same thing, and even when I showed them the acceptance letter, they still didn’t believe it.
Well, I understand why, and I’ll call the admissions office tomorrow to see if they made a mistake, like the Columbia incident
Is your name Azia Kim?
What! No! Who’s that?
And you just got this acceptance letter now, in late June? Anything on a portal? Financial aid letter?
No, I got accepted in January. I’ve just been self doubting myself, and my friends haven’t exactly helped. As for the financial aid, though my parents aren’t rich, they’ve saved enough to get me through.
No, the acceptance was real. Just don’t know if their was a mistake or not. That’s probably why I got mine in January
I hope you contact the school and let us know what they say.
Anything extraordinary happen to you? Start your own business, cure cancer?
I wish. I guess my school was never top in the rankings, the region that I live in is kind of remote. I will for sure check, though it just seems to good to be true
