haha, this reminds me of american pie..."you and have to drive across canada, beautiful country"

Well distance isnt really an issue...is it? Look into your options at Umich, see if they have a program or something that you would be interested in. Unless you absolutely need cornell and you absolutely don't find anything interesting at mich, $160K is alot of money...this is a really tough decision, but its awesome that you're "stuck" making it. Alot better than the kid deciding between a third tier school or community college...

DEFINITELY go to Michigan. I originally applied to Tufts ED, and was deferred, and then I finally realized Cornell is the place for me... I can't afford the hefty full costs of these high-end universities, and Cornell's CALS is absolutely perfect, considering I have a passion for veterinary medicine. It could not be a more perfect match for me. Anyway, you'll be happy down the road when you've saved money and still had an amazing time at a college you enjoy.

I really wanted to go out of state, but I think I'm just going to accept my parents bribes lol and go to Michigan, maybe later on i can study abroad for a semester. thanks for everyone's advice and thoughts!!!!

yea i'm a cornell transfer, and i absolutely LOVE it here and everything, but passing up a FULL RIDE to a school as great as Mich just seems foolish. i get tremendous financial aid here at cornell, thats probably the only reason im here, but if i was in your shoes i would probably go to Michigan
