Well your stats don't matter anymore, but you are faced with a very tough decision. What kind of aid is cornell offering. or will you not find out until April 2 or 3 when everyone else does? That's what counts. UM is an awesome school too, so you really have a tough choice, even though I love my Cornell '09ness. Obviously with no financial aid from CU, UM is the choice, but if Cornell gives you a good package, then your decision is more of a toss up.

What do you want to study? that affects your choice too.

Depends what program you want to pursue at mich.

It's funny that you applied ILR, because I don't think Michigan has any comparable program to ILR.... If your interests lie with the topics associated with the ILR degree, that would be your only option.

For undergraduate business, Mich is the way to go.

Although I absolutely love Cornell, you CAN'T beat a full ride at University of Michigan. Think of it this way, you will say 160K by not going to Cornell, tell that to your parents, and ask them for a really nice car. The only reasons I can see for going to Cornell is that money has no influence (meaning you are loaded), you can think of NUMEROUS reasons why Cornell is better, or you simply don't like anything about Michigan except for the full ride. This is a tough choice, but think aobut how much money you can save, and if you can picture yourself happy at michigan, go for it. Good luck.

I totally agree, psquared. Take the full ride unless you are truly interested in the ILR program. For me, Cornell was the ONLY place I wanted to go to school because of the hospitality administration program. If you're looking for a general business degree or aren't sure what you want to major in, that's a TON of money. Also, your parents could probably put it towards graduate school, which would be a huge burden off of your shoulders later on.

Michigan was a close second choice to Cornell for me. I would definately choose full ride at UMich because it, like Cornell, is and unbelievable school with a great alumni network.

Thank you every one sooo much for your help!!! I won't get any financial aid from Cornell, so Michigan is definitely looking like my choice right now. I applied to ILR because it is everything I am interested in and love, but there I can't think of what I want to do exactly, so I am sure I will be able to find something at Michigan. Right now I am just surprised I got into either....lol.

why not go to michigan, and if you dont like it transfer sophmore or junior year. you'll save money without losing ground on your college experience.

Michigan is a pretty good public school system (second only to UC system and UV system)! A full ride is not bad at all...if you are pursuing grad school, maybe you can get a Cornell or other Ivy degree to finish up. Or better yet, maybe Cornell will match UM-Ann-Arbor's aid....that way you can still go to Cornell since cost isn't a factor.

that's so amazing...feel lucky you can have such a choice. I would say it depends on your needs. Is money an issue? Actually an issue, like you won't get much aid, etc?

We wouldn't get any aid if we applied, but we can't exactly afford the 40,000 a year either...lol. I really like the atmosphere of Cornell, everyone seems really nice and friendly.. AHH tough decision. it's either being 8 hours away from home, or 45 min..
