Congrats! So early decision! U of Minn is really Rolling admission.
@sunquebec my D applied Monday and was accepted Friday so based on that, I would say yes to RA.
Say congrats to wifemonteacher!
Does your D apply honor program, or automatically enrolled as honor program?
UMN doesn’t have a separate application for Honors. If your student isn’t offered Honors as a freshman, however, they can apply to be admitted to the program as a sophomore.
Thanks GopherMom3! Will tell my D17.
Got accepted to UMN for spring semester 2020 as well, im a transfer applicant. Applied on 10/1, received acceptance update two years ago.

Congrats!
Accepted today 10/10/19 in the College of Science and Engineering. I am an out of state applicant.
I am an Asian male with a unweighted GPA of 3.90 on a 4.33 scale, and it roughly translates to a 3.6 on a 4.0 scale. I have a 36 ACT (36 Reading, 35 Math, 36 English, 35 Science, 11 writing). I am president of one club and a member in a handful of others. I am on a varsity sports team and was 1st team All Division. Also am a National Merit Semifinalist.
This was the first college I was accepted to and I am very excited and am seriously considering attending as it was one of my top choices. Good luck to anyone else applying!
OOS daughter completed application 9/29 and was accepted 10/10 to College of Education and Human Development. 3.7 Unweighted GPA, 4.3 Weighted, 1270 SAT (660V, 610M). Extracurriculars included lots of theater and music-related activities, one year of a varsity sport, working with special needs kids.
Did you find out through your tracker first or from a letter in the mail??
@Alexasoto you’ll get it first in your tracker. It’s hidden…it’s not a giant congratulations or anything…it just says you have an update. We seriously almost missed my son’s. I thankfully was at the computer with him trying to navigate the site and asked him what the update was. We thought he was missing something. When he opened it, the admissions letter was there.
Best of luck to you! I hope you hear soon!
Yes. My son would have missed it too! I saw it and he was away camping so I texted him to check his tracker. He replied back that he didn’t see anything but “Application Complete” so I had to explain where it was.
The letter comes in the mail a week later.
@mamadb @cshell2 Where exactly “update available” will show up? When we login in tracker, we see Status = Application complete. If we click on status further, it takes you to next screen, where it shows detailed status like application, score received etc. Thanks!
@SKB418 - It started with an “Update Available” notice in red on the first page next to the Application Complete. Then later that day that went away and up above the yellow box with “All of your required application materials have been received by the Nov 1st Deadline” there was a link that said “View Update”.
Do they usually send updates on fridays or could it be any day?
@Alexasoto I heard that they update on Saturday mornings. This held true when my son’s update/admit came through. What college are you applying to? They might be trying to fit you into your first choice. Hang tight!
I applied to the College of Biological Sciences.
@Alexasoto I bet there’s a lot of really well qualified candidates for CBS and they are just trying to make their decisions on placement. Double check your app to make sure you’ve got everything turned in. You probably do have everything in, but it doesn’t hurt to check one last time to make sure nothing is missing.
You seem to be pretty excited about hearing back from UMN, so I hope you hear back soon and you get in
Thank you, you are very sweet!!
