So awhile back, I was accepted ED to a university but other than signing the verification form, I have not withdrawn my apps since all this happened during finals week and I kind of lost my head during winter break (it was very relaxing. SUE ME =( ). Even though I never submitted another app in the first place. My teacher recs and transcripts are in though.

I'm planning on withdrawing from the colleges with Jan. 15th deadlines but it's still polite to e-mail the colleges with earlier deadlines about my withdrawal right? Very irresponsible of me I know but I'm ready to pay for it if I have to.

if you never submitted another application, then you never technically applied.

Showing intent and applying are two different things. Did you actually send applications? If you did, these are deadlines for applications. I don't think decisions would be forthcoming any time soon. It would be polite to withdraw your applications (you don't want the AdCom to waste its time) but a few more days should not make much of a difference.

Technically you never applied, although you may want to withdraw anyway.

There's a decent chance you were already pulled from those computers anyway, though, depending on where you were accepted ED.
