Accepted Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

@000AAAaaa, You are referring to financial aid right? Did you get it in the mail or email?

@concerto95‌ no just talking about the acceptance packet

@000AAAaaa, Did you also get like an envelope before the packet? I have only gotten an envelope that had official acceptance letter, an instructions page ( for like general housing/ dining etc. steps ) and then like a flipbook thing that’s says welcome on the front.

Accepted to CALS Biological Sciences sooooo excited!! I’ll be living off campus :)

Accepted into AEM as a regular transfer! Anyone get financial aid? If so how was it?

@concerto95‌ yep got a letter first and a few days later a packet.

@reneesydaisy‌ do you know where your going to live?!

Accepted to CALS animal science today! :)

Did anyone have a link for the FB group btw? Might as well just have one for all transfers, GT or regular.

Hey all! I’m not at home ATM but I was told that a welcome package arrived for me yesterday. Apparently they are still working out my FA. Have all of you received aid decisions yet?

Still haven’t decided about living on or off campus. Some of the on-campus options look pretty appealing (super single, for example) but I’m also super old so I don’t know how weird it would be to live on campus. Especially since the bf is 3 hours away at Penn and I might want some SUPER privacy when he comes to visit. Assuming I end up at Cornell, of course. ;)

someone make one! Congrats on everyone btw! I’m sure you all made many sacrifices to get to where you are today.

Anyone have the credit eval link for CAS?

@ballislife123‌ AYY MEN to that!!! i have given up so much and it feels amazing!

So my financial aid award online says that I didn’t qualify for aid but my EFC is $35k per year according to FAFSA and my parents told me they’re only going to pay $30k :(

@william95‌ where did yo check?

Were you admited anywhere else or is Cornell your first choice?

@Rewaska <a href=“View Financial Aid Decision | Financial Aid”>http://www.finaid.cornell.edu/aid-decision</a>

I applied to Penn (Wharton) too but I don’t hear from them until May 5th and chances are I will not be accepted.

@william95‌ I have applied to Penn also, different school though. But you have 30days to think everything through. It that time all the other schools will release their decision and you will just have to pick the one which fits you needs, academic and financial, the best.

I do not have my Fin aid decision yet, but I am very nervous - I am an independent student, have no family in US and my parents make $700 a month all together, so I cannot expect them to pay for anything lol

@Rewaska I’m sure you’ll be fine, my problem comes from the fact that my family is middle class and my parents have a decent amount of money saved but that money is for their retirement not paying for college. Cornell looks at it as available resources for paying tuition. I will most likely have to suck it up and take the loans because Cornell is such a step up in terms of recruiting for IB

^ same boat as you mate. Also is there a transfer orientation like one specifically for us or are we mixed in with the incoming freshmen. Do we go to school before the rest of the school other than the freshmen?

@ballislife123 It kinda sucks but there’s not much we can do. I think the transfer orientation happens the same time as the freshmen one but we’re in orientation groups with other counselors? Or at least that’s what I would presume

You’re in AEM too right? What are you planning on concentrating in?

Do we have a separate orientation to go to in the mid summer (like in July) like other schools or is it just the one during move in time in August? Does anyone know?
