Accepted Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

And does anyone know if we get advising or some advising form when it comes to registering for classes? Or are we suppose to figure it out for ourselves? I honestly have only a general idea about what I should be taking.

@concerto95 new student move in (transfers and Freshmen) is August 22nd. We will have orientation then. It is at the same time as the Freshman orientation, but we will not be with them. We will be having a transfer orientation. Classes start August 26th.

We will be receiving more information about creating schedules in the summer when they send all of our materials. Depending on your school and major, you will either register in mid-July or August. I am assuming we will be advised on what classes to take, but not until around the time we are supposed to register for classes.

What do your guys transevals say?

@luc425, my transeval just has on it credit I am getting for my fall semester classes, it dosnt have my spring or winter ones yet though.

What does it say up top? Mine changed today from the normal Transeval to saying “Welcome full name!!” With my major in green. However, the bottom says “no credit evaluation is available,” which to me is a step up from “our records do not show you as an accepted CALS student.”

@william95 I’m not sure:/ I definitely want to concentrate in applied economics; however, we have to pick two and by junior and I feel like not doing finance would be a huge waste since AEM is known for good IB placement. Still, I want to do something I like so…

@ballislife123 I’m definitely going to do finance but I’m still deciding on a second one as well. Its between applied economics and accounting right now, and I’m leaning towards applied economics. I’m so excited about the IB placement though, it blows my current school out of the water

Transeval is FINALLY finished and posted! I must say, VERY generous. They literally took every single course on my transcript. Even things that I totally expected not to transfer, like speech. Awesome. Only thing that sucks is that calculus is an elective. In fact, I’m pretty sure I will have like…no electives. And I have to take PE, but no swim test! They will even take the courses I’m enrolled in right now, assuming I do well in them. Way to go, Cornell!

On another note, I still haven’t received a FA decision. I know it’s a stupid question, but you don’t think a place like Cornell would run out of grant money, do you? :-SS

@william95 Yea I completely agree with you on that one. Applied economics sounds so badass;)
@paintthesilence They poor doe:*( Also i thought we were excused from PE. Wouldn’t mind it though.

I have a quick question for all you accepted transfers who applied to CALS. Prior to being accepted did your course evaluation say your name and major with exclamation points? Or, were there some of you who never got a completed evaluation but were still accepted

@lanbernas, Yeah it had my full name at top with two !!. Then major was listed, and then it said at bottom in yellow something like the office has been notified of your acceptance but have not yet completed your course evaluation. it said to give them 2-3 days or something. then a few days later, I was able to view the form.

@concerto95 were you also able to retrieve your pin number on the decision website and check your decision release date/time (April 22 10am I’m guessing)?

Yes, I was accepted on April 15th (I think at 10 am). I first saw the transeval thing display what I said before like a week earlier. I was notified by email like you mentiioned and used the pin and my own password to see the decision letter.

@ianbernas I had my course evaluation filled out a day or so before I was accepted to CALS AEM.

Is anyone living on West Campus? If so are you just going random or trying to use the application matching thing (suggests people who have similar answers to the lifestyle form you fill out)?

@lanbernas, what does your credit eval say in yellow? Mine has my name!! and my major, but it says “No transfer credit evaluation is available.” I am hopeful that this is still indicative of an acceptance, and that they just finished my eval.

*just haven’t finished

@luc425, This is what mine said in yellow,

“CALS Student Services has received notice of your acceptance, but your transfer credit evaluation is not yet complete. Please check back in a day or two. Thanks for your patience!”

@luc425 are you able to retrieve your pin on the decision page: https://decision.applyyourself.com/fl_login.aspx?id=cornellu</a> ?

No, I still get an error message. I don’t think this is a negative however. It means that our admissions get sent out on a rolling basis, so it could be given out at any time.

@luc425 I don’t have anything on my transeval and I’m getting the error. Are you a GT?
