Accepted into SDSU but accidentally misreported my SAT score

I was accepted into SDSU early in January because they wanted me to apply to the Hutton Honors College, and while I decided not to apply to that, I was planning on accepting their offer of admission. However, when scrolling through the portal today I realized that I misreported my SAT score. I called the school today after noticing it and they told me to submit my real scores and I would hear back within the next 4-5 weeks. My actual SAT score was an 1260 overall, 590 Math and 670 English. But I somehow miss typed the 590 and instead wrote 690 for my math score. On this specific test attempt, my English was only a 640 so the 690 brings my cumulative up to a 1330 instead of my actual 1260. How should I approach this and do you think my admission will be rescinded? The rest of my stats are as follows

You’ve notified admissions of the error as soon as you caught it which is good. If that is the only error it lowers your EI somewhat. After you correct the self reported test score are you still able to accept their offer?

Taking a look at some of your posted information it’s hard to reconcile your unweighted GPA against what you state is a CSU GPA. The school uses the CSU GPA for their EI calculation. It’s for only 10th and 11th grades and allows for a max of 8 weighted semesters even if you had more. I don’t think it’s possible to have a 4.23 CSU GPA with an unweighted GPA of 3.56 so perhaps double check that as well.

The Hutton Honors College is at IU in Bloomington.

@Banker1 I cannot self correct the error as they have to do it, so I am unaware on if I’ll still be able to accept it. And yes 4.23 is my CSU GPA as calculated by SDSU. My unweighted GPA is low due to a bad freshman year which isn’t accounted for in my CSU GPA. My unweighted for Sophomore and Junior combined is a 3.95. And you are correct, my mistake on the name of the honors college, I meant to say Weber. I copied my stats from my IU Bloomington post which must’ve made me think Hutton instead of Weber.

I figured you had applied to IU as well. My friend’s D is freshman there. She applied for and received direct admission there which is key. They will consider all the hours and extras you listed in your first post.

SDSU considers EI, major, whether you are in state and local service area. The 3.95 UW is what I would expect to see for a 4.23 CSU GPA. That makes more sense now. I think the test score snafu is minor and you will still be admitted to SDSU. Your EI is still around 4600. Good luck!

Did you not send an official copy of your SAT to SDSU during the application process?

@Banker1 Thank you!

@Gumbymom Nope I didn’t, they accepted me based off of my reported scores
