Accepted into visitation program, but not going? Is it bad?

I got an email from a college saying I could go to their overnight program in the fall. This acceptance is on a selective basis.

Right after that, I sent a “yes” via email, indicating I would attend the program. However, I found out that I have other conflicts during that weekend. Is it ok if I just email the admissions people and tell them that I cannot go anymore? If I apply to that school during the actual admissions round later this year, will I risk getting a rejection because of this?

No they won’t hold it against you. They know things come up. Just send them a nice note explaining what happened and that you are still interested in the school.
