Accepted RD for 2010

:(

I'm guessing you haven't made a decision yet?

ugh I'm so ambivalent.
TAP seems to be hard thing to turn down.
But I liked HMC's class sizes and atmosphere so much better.
aah!

If you went with the TAP program and realized after a year or two that you didn't really like pharmacy, could you easily switch into a different program of study at usc? cause if the answer is no and you think there's a possibility that you won't like it, maybe you shouldn't do that. although... i've been really indecisive about my own major (i have ADD too), but i just keep coming back to biochem, which i was pretty sure i wanted to major in since about 8th grade (i say this while considering switching to bio).

The TAP program is essentially 3 years of pre-pharm preparation, and then the guaranteed 4 years of pharmacy, if you can keep your GPA up. Of course, you can choose not to go to USC's pharm school and go somewhere else. I would assume that switching to another major wouldn't be that difficult, since USC encourages you to major and minor/double major in two very different subjects.

Anyways dncr, whatever you choose, I wish you luck!

yea I asked about that, and they said that it'd be hard, but I could probably pull off a double major in chemical engineering and prepharmacy at the same time. ADD's a cool thing to have... not really. It's actually quite frustrating when it gets down to the wee hours of the night and you have a paper due and your group partners are trying to get you to focus and you JUST CAN'T.

you guys/gals pooped?

dncrditzx22, i know exactly what you mean about the group work. it's particularly frustrating when you're having trouble focusing and trying really hard, but it's just not happening, and the group doesn't get that...
there are actually a lot of people here who have ADD (i don't know if that's any sort of selling factor, more of a comment, really), whether they've known for a while and successfully medicate (or don't medicate), have found out recently (like me), or just show most of the symptoms of it and despite official diagnosis have a REALLY good reason to suspect they have it. so a large portion of the mudd community is pretty understanding.

but anyway, best of luck whatever you choose, and keep us up to date!

Sorry guys, but I had to turn down HMC. Nothing against the school, but I don't think it's right for me.

Maybe I can drop by one day and finally meet you guys?

hahahahaha don't tell me-- you're going to USC, prepharm and Viterbi engineering? hahahahaha
you're never going to be able to get rid of me
yes, I also turned down HMC, after much debate. TAP was just too good of an offer to not take.
Don't worry HMC boys, y'all won't be able to get rid of me either... I still have connections in Claremont; you'd better believe I'll be back in town for the next big West dorm party ;)

lol (about dncr's party comment). good luck peeps! you'll do great things at usc, no doubt.

make sure you go to north's parties as well. they're a bit classier and always a lot of fun. and im not just saying this because i'll be living in north next year (moving out of west). i thought that when i was a diehard westie, too.

Well, just keep me updated on those crazy Mudd parties ;). You know, just in case I get sick of SC's trashy frat-land... not that I don't love that too, though! Besides, I can always use a good break when the big city starts to drive me crazy.

Well, I'm actually doing just Biochemistry, with pre-pharm emphasis (no TAP). I'm thinking of double-majoring in either psychology, biomedical/EE, or music. I guess I'll be seeing you in a couple classes, then. :)

Am I invited to the parties? I missed the last TQ party and ended up sniffing lemon peels. :(

You'll need a connection to get into the bigger parties, but if you come hang out on almost any weekend (you know, as one of those random, sketchy, off-campus people), you could probably easily meet people and make those connections. Or maybe you and dncrditzx22 will become bestest friends and you can come up here together.

hahahaha me and my kickass Sagehen contacts ;)

I have a feeling she will end up, like, stalking me.

Not that it's a bad thing. :)

I could never be a stalker. I'm too ditzy to stalk. oh look, shiny

runs into a pole

Just kidding. :)

I beg your pardon! I run with poles, not into them. Although, now that I'm 18 (woohoo, as of today) I can legally dance with poles too.

Happy Birthday! (Geez I'm still 16!) Now your screenname fits perfectly! :p
