For those who have received letters from Stanford, is there a difference between an accepted and rejected letter? Say, an accepted letter is usually thicker?

Just wondering..

For those who have received letters from Stanford, is there a difference between an accepted and rejected letter? Say, an accepted letter is usually thicker?

Just wondering..

the accepted letter comes in a big packet that says "congratulations" on the front...

and yeah, its thicker

I'm glad to hear that.

that kind of sucks since you know the decisions before you even open it !

Before the letter even comes, there's an e-mail saying you can get your results on-line. Of course, if you like the traditional mail box ritual, you don't have to log in.

can you really check your status online?
That'd be awesome

You get the admission heads-up e-mail a few days before the expected announcement date. The result is then online at the same time the letters are snail mailed, I think.

About when are the results posted online, relative to April 1st/December 15th?

For SCEA, the e-mail came on 12/8 and the results were up on 12/15.

Pardon my ignorance, but how would I go about checking my stats online?

I have told you all I know about the Stanford e-mail to SCEA applicants a week before the notification date. Some schools give applicants a PIN and website to check their regular application status as soon as it is completed. I don't know if Stanford does.
